Marky Castro-Talsma is a landscape and documentary photographer based in Grand Rapids, Michigan. His work encapsulates his fascination with the outdoors and natural history.

His interest in photography started early in his life. During his time at Wyoming High School, he learned the basics of editing in photoshop. And with infinite information at his fingertips, he developed his knowledge of photography through forums, articles and videos. He continues to develop his skillset and artistry.

Marky has published one collection in Spring of 2024. The HI-Desert collection encapsulated the other worldliness of the California High Desert with it’s intricate rock formations, alien like vegetation, and titanic boulders. This whole collection was shot on a vintage Minolta 40mm Rokkor X.

He is currently working on one project that aims to capture the state of Michigan’s beauty. He aims to shoot this project on film at a 1x1 aspect ratio using a twin lens reflex.
